FCT secretary assures improved standard of education

” As a trained educationist, I held various positions in the teaching and learning. We must not only mould the children to be academically sound and morally fit in the society but we must be role models to them.

Alhaji Sani El-katuzu, the newly inaugurated Secretary for Federal Capital Territory Education Secretariat, has pledged to evolve strategies that would improve standard of education in the territory.

El-Katuzu, who made the pledge during a meeting with the FCT Education Management, on Wednesday in Abuja, assured that the standard of education in the territory would not be compromised during his tenure.

The secretary described education as the bedrock of any meaningful development, key to social and economic emancipation and noted that education deserved special priority in the territory.

” As a trained educationist, I held various positions in the teaching and learning. We must not only mould the children to be academically sound and morally fit in the society but we must be role models to them.

” Every FCT residents should have access to education because educating them has proven to be a great asset to the parents, society and the nation as a whole.

” Investing in education will make positive impact in the FCT, ” he said.

He thanked the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, for finding him worthy to serve in the capacity and assured that he would take education in FCT to an enviable height.

Earlier, the Director of Administration and Finance of the Secretariat, Malam Leramoh Abdulrazaq, assured that the education management team was ready to work with the new secretary to achieve his mandate.

El-katuzu, who was born in 1960 in Yobe, had his early education at Sabon Gari Primary School, and Government Secondary School both at Gashu’a respectively.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Education at University of Maiduguri and Master of Education (Admin and Planning) at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He had held various positions which include: Special Adviser on Education to the Governor of Yobe, Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Assistant Director, Planning, Borno State Primary Schools Management Board among others.
